Caring for Your New Art Design Flooring
Congratulations on your new flooring! To ensure the best results and maintain its beauty for years to come, it’s important to follow these guidelines during the curing process and beyond.
Curing Process: What to Expect
Your new floors will typically fully cure within one week, with the first 48 hours being the most critical. Proper care during this time will ensure durability and longevity.
First 24 Hours
- Keep your garage door open to allow proper air circulation. While you can walk on the floors after six hours, in humid conditions, it’s best to wait a bit longer.
- If it’s raining, leave the garage door slightly open to promote airflow while keeping water out.
After 24 Hours
- Continue to keep the garage door open as much as possible for optimal air circulation.
- You may walk on the floor and place lightweight items, but avoid dragging heavy or sharp objects, as they can scratch the surface.
- Typically, vehicles can be moved into the garage after 24 hours. However, if humidity levels were high during installation, consult your installer—they may recommend waiting an additional 24 hours.
Cleaning and Maintenance Tips
Art Design Flooring is designed to withstand most spills and wear, but proper cleaning will keep it looking its best.
- Everyday Cleaning: Wipe up spills promptly to prevent discoloration. Most spills can be cleaned with a cloth, and tougher spots can be scrubbed gently with a soft-bristle brush. For regular cleaning, use mild dish soap with water and a mop or foam squeegee.
- What to Avoid: Power washers, buffing machines, or harsh chemicals can damage the coating and are not recommended. Be cautious when cleaning, as wet floors can become slippery.
- Stain Caution: While highly resistant to spills, prolonged exposure to grease, oil, gasoline, transmission fluid, or battery acid can dull the surface. Clean up these substances immediately to prevent damage.
